I've been using Blogger for the past five years and I am probably going to use tumblr to try something new instead. At the same time, I hope it'll give me a renewed surge of inspiration to blog. Such a pity I've lost all interest in doing this. No surprise why no one reads this shit hole any more.

At the moment, my life really is a shit hole. Day and night for the past week, it's been mugging and almost nothing else. For the nerds, I'm pretty sure it's been orgasmic the entire past two or three weeks - an absolute contrary to what I'm experiencing

Anyway, yesterday was a real eye opener. Really didn't expect a person to speak so publicly about another even though that was for an example. Eye opener.

Last week's revision was awesome. All the PFS practice papers that I tried balanced at the end. Really thank God for that. Like because its such a tedious process doing the question, so having the SFP balanced gave me a great boost of confidence.

But today's was horrible. I was so tired and I was reminiscing about stuff that meant something to me. It just hit me perpetually today, that some things just leave us whether we like it or not. But the fact and realisation that other stuff remains intact gives in return comfort.

Anyway cny today was boring and sombre. It's supposed to be a happy holiday with all the money from ang paos and food to eat, but I visited the departed most of the time today. Out of the five places I went, 3 were niches. Tomorrow should be awesome though.

Help. I can't sleep. It's one thirty in the morning and I'm wide awake while everyone else is fast asleep. And it sucks cause I'm tired from soccer just now. Yea, why can't I fall asleep even though I'm supposedly worn out?

Actually this I-can't-sleep problem has been going on for awhile. I want to sleep but my mind refuses to let me do that. It just races about the day's activities and other stuff.

Well at least school starts only at one pm tomorrow. So I have lots of time to sleep. And hopefully the presentation would be fast and I'll be done with school by two? Yea that'll be awesome. Tomorrow will be the start of yet another week. Want it to pass fast. The past few weeks have been difficult.

Had AGM role play for law today. Got an A without even saying a word. A-awesome! And my birthday's coming round. Promising week.

Or so I thought. I did not do anything useful this week.

I've been skipping and sleeping in lessons most recently. I've tried and successfully curbed that habit, until now. But lessons are so boring this semester. Dammit. And I thought law was going to be as interesting as it was last year. False hope.

And I've been playing dota more than usual. It's such an interesting game - a wholesome integration of strategy, wits, tactics and guts. Slaying creeps and heroes (or otherwise getting slain) keeps me immensely glued to the screen. Like an hour passes before I know it. Keeps my mind off everything else.

Well, see what I mean? Where is my life going? Currently, I'm feeling demoralised. I mean, my birthday is round the corner. It's supposed to be an exciting period. The most anticipated start to my year. And here I am slacking and doing absolutely nothing to improve myself. But I kind of want it at the moment - life to be at a standstill. And what for?

All I know is I'm at the losing end.

Hey readers! It's 2010 and its back to school for me. And going back to school on the first week after mid term tests is actually quite exciting cause well, you've guessed it, I get to see my results.

But my results are poles apart from exciting. Everything was a borderline pass. Well almost, cause I don't know my results for Audit yet - I have high hopes on this paper. Other than results, school is pretty much the same this week. Seeing same old faces and dropping smoke screens during last minute presentations.

So its 2010 and lots of people are going on about new year resolutions and making fresh starts etc. But I feel so attached to last year that it doesn't feel like a new year to me. Maybe I should let go of last year? I don't what's wrong with me. Awesome.

Holidays! Things have gotten really interesting this week.
I've started to exercise more regularly now. So on Monday, I hit the gym with greg. I realised I've been getting more and more unfit. My stamina and speed has lowered a lot since sec 4. In poly it's really up to me to keep fit. So I'm gonna continue playing soccer or whatever to keep fit!

So after gym, I headed for buffet dinner at Novena. I love buffets! At this one, the highlights were the stingray, sotong, the meats and chocolate fondue. I ate quite a bit and was very full after the meal. But it was satisfying :D

After that I played some online game overnight! Unbelievable.

Anyway, I just got home from prawning in Bishan. Darn I can't wait to go back. The prawns were good. Maybe I'll talk about it and upload photos in the next post.

As I blog, I'm watching Roger Federer challenge Tommy Hass in the wimbledon semis. Should federer win, he'll have a record of reaching 7 consecutive Wimbledon finals! I'm hoping and think he'll do it. Anyway, federer has his own facebook account, and I'm a fan! What I like about it is that he updates often and responses to fans.

Holidays are over and it's back to the mundane cycle of lectures and tutorials, this time with a small twist. This sem, my IS is self expression through poetry and drama. The reason why i'm doing it is because I missed my IS selection slot and this is what the system allocated me.

When I stepped into class on Monday, I realised that Yu Kai and myself were not the only auto allocation casualties. About a third of the class were in the same boat as us. So for the first lesson, there was the SOP for a new class and as an icebreaker, we wrote poems about our classmates. wtf.

And homework is more poems. I'm gonna need help. FML.

Today I sat for my financial accounting paper. During the paper, my name was announced over the PA system, twice! It was quite embarrassing. I didn't hear it the first time. But when I heard it, I was kinda irritated cause my concentration was disrupted. Turned out I was overlooked in attendance taking - literally, cause I was right in front...

At the moment, I'm disappointed. The damned SFP didn't balance. It just spoiled the day. The past few days I've been mugging hard for it, so I think I did my best. But it's been stressful lately cause I started my revision late and I'm still unsure about some stuff. Like now I'm quite clueless about cost. But thanks to Shi lin and Yu kai, I know there's help out there!

Anyway, I've been missing out on activities and time to spend with my friends cause I'm not on holiday yet. And the French Open, I'm contemplating if I should catch the finals tomorrow. Go Federer!

Hello everyone! In case you're wondering, Sundown luminaire is my new band. And just last Friday we had a gig at Innova Jc. It was a fund raising event for the family of a student who passed away. For our band, the significance of it was that the gig was our first together. The band features Fred on the drums, Joshua on rhythm and vocals, Zhaolin with the vocals, Chuan Qing on bass and myself on lead.

For that past week we were practising, and as we did we raced with time to get things right. The set was a nice experience and I learnt a fair bit from it. This experience would not have been as nice without the support of Lihan, Ian, Brandon, Gregory and Junliang. The performance was given a further boost with the help of Gregory, who lent me his guitar and Ian for the pedals. Thanks everyone!

Anyway, I just returned from BA Envoys exco selection camp. It was a long time since I experienced such exhaustion. A challenge presented itself when I realised I didn't know half the people there. But it was made easy by the friendliness of my new friends; I felt really comfortable. As much as I would like to rant on, I'm not supposed to say anything about the camp here so I shan't go into detail.

For a while now, exams are over and I'm on holiday. HOLIDAY. I love the fact. Hopefully I'll be able to find a temp job soon. This post is going to end abruptly now cause I gotta go but I'll update soon! Out.

Hello there. Happy niu year to you! And happy birthday to Fred too.

Guess what I'm finally 18! I can legally watch M18 movies, smoke, get married and have sex. Right.

My birthday was on Friday and I have a lot to thank God for. The week felt comfortable throughout amidst the pressure of school. On Monday, I was kinda surprised by Richelle, Jiaying, Yu Kai and Benjamin. Richelle and Jiaying skipped lecture to get a cake! It was lunch time that they presented the supposed surprise. Stephanie's birthday was on 14jan, so our birthdays were celebrated together. Double happiness.

I also celebrated early with my family on Wednesday. It was a fun evening although it was celebrated in similar fashion last year. And of course, not forgetting the leather bag they got me. It has this snug compartment that fits my laptop nicely with my other stuff, just the size I need.

Another surprise came on the actual day in school, this time by my current classmates. It was in the middle of DSS class when the lights dimmed suddenly. I looked around and realised that some people were missing, but there they were with the cake. It wasn't over yet. I had to remove something from cake with my mouth. I'm sure you can guess what happened thereafter. ha.

The best surprise came later in the evening. Before that I had a neat dinner at nydc and ice cream at Häagen-Dazs. When I got home and cleared my bag, I found something :)

Anyway, random finding: Coincidentally I share my birthday with:

As usual, time passes fast during the holidays. Now, a week is all I have left. It all started with Liyun's chalet, which I stayed from 13th to 15th.

There was plenty of food and snacks which made me a whole lot ~~fatter~~ stronger. The chalet itself was also refurbished with new interiors - making the stay harder to forget. Irony: Something to forget would be the Frisbee game. Nothing major happened, but I was somewhat disappointed. Anyway, there were also many fun moments, like when Jevon was tau pok-ed? I enjoyed myself this chalet. Yea hope everyone had a good time.

Christmas preparations and music group prac followed closely after the chalet. This kinda made me sick of going to church cause I went down 7 days consecutively. Well, all for the good of Christmas? Absolutely. It all paid off on the actual day and I thought everyone did well... Anyway, I'm starting to miss x'mas already.

Sandwiched between these was meeting up with friends, jamming, soccer etc. A week is all I have left to complete four projects. GG.

Anyway, just wanted to thank everyone for the presents. Thanks for... the colourful mug, the tasty biscuits, the fascinating canned tee, the comfortable wrist support, the beautiful fred perry cap, the delicious cupcake, the interesting toothbrush, the useful 2009 calender, the cool op tee, the nice topman tee, and the meaningful cards (which includes a creative photo xmas card ~~which I thought was a scandal photo at first glance~~)

Last night, I was in the comfort of home using the computer. All was peaceful until some cockroach came straight at me through my open window (yea again). I had a similar incident not too long ago. This time, I was really annoyed. It's times like these when you need......

Baygon! A single spray would leave it struggling to move properly. And 10 minutes later it'd be on its back kicking about, looking really silly. Finally of course, it would die. Solid stuff, probably an essential in my house. Anyway I've learned my lesson about keeping windows closed.

A smile is a curved line that sets things straight

'Tis the season to be jolly', but I'm preparing projects and presenting them week after week. It's really stressing sometimes with this fast paced school term. I just cleared IAC (individual and the community) last week and I'll never have to do it again. Yay!

Coming week there's more presentations, and common test will be the week after next. Hope I'll handle well.
I've realised more than ever that many accountancy students are incredibly competitive. So 'O' level grads, if you hate competition, accountancy might not be a good diploma to pursue.

Anyway, common tests end on the 12th of December - just in time for Liyun's chalet and Richard's & Sylvy's wedding. I can almost feel the sweetness of freedom wafting through the air, proclaiming its imminent arrival! Woah can't wait, but for now...... (sigh)

It's 1.25am and I gotta get up later for CC at 6.30am! I'll get some rest now. Peace out.

A few days back, I happened to be listening to radio station Class95fm during Jean Danker's show. Surprisingly, the songs were very appealing to me. On the contrary, the songs that 98.7fm play at the moment are less appealing to me.

Is this a shift of the 'songs of a generation' in motion? Am I starting to be not so young (side note: I'm turning 18 soon)? Also remember that Jean Danker used to be a 98.7fm DJ.

Would songs by artistes like Muse, AAR, Eminem or even Akon be heard on Gold 90fm or something similar 20 years down the road? They'd probably have a new station since Gold 90 wouldn't be so relevant. But what's most important is that the station doesn't air trash rap and techno.

Anyway, I wonder what my future kids would say about Muse's music.

I was approached by two people from NP_navigators, a Christian society in my school. They started by introducing themselves and asked if I had heard of the gospel. I explained that I was already a Christian, hoping that they would not go on. I'm not very comfortable with talking to strangers like that.

So I answered their questions about my life as briefly as possible. They then finally came to the part that was seemingly what they wanted to share. After they were done, they walked off. So I was wondering, why was it only me they spoke to of all the people around? Anyway, the thing they shared was the wheel illustration of the Christian life(below). To find out more, click here.

Anyway, my holidays have been full of activities that I've been too lazy to settle down to blog. It started off with a short but enjoyable trip to Genting. Together with me were Greg, Brandon, Chengqing and Lihan.

By coach, we left Singapore at about 10pm. On the way up, vision ahead of us was limited to about 30 meters because of the fog. But we got there safe and sound, except for the chattering of our teeth when we got off the coach.

The school's first semester officially ends this weekend. Looking back, first sem has been fast paced throughout. But along the way, I still managed to meet good friends and joined two ad hoc groups in BA - BAenvoys and BAcomm.

In sem 1, I had a subject called sports and wellness where students have to join one of the sports that are offered. No idea why, but I chose volleyball. Anyway, at the end of about 12 sessions, we participated in an inter-class competition. Before it began, my team had no aim or game plan, we were expecting most of the other 20+ teams to own us. In the end……

In July I competed in some long distance relay event called project nutz. This time we aimed for a medal, and a medal we got! My team members were from another BAenvoys group. So it was kind of weird for me cause I didn't know most of them. Still, I enjoyed the run and had a pretty good time.

Life for the past 18 days......

But it's all over =D

One day, I was taking a bus to school and it was crowded as usual. During the journey, two random guys in their 40s started arguing suddenly. Their argument seemed to be driven at how each other was taking up too much space in the bus.
It escalated into an exchange of punches until another random guy broke it up. It was nice entertainment. But their argument became especially stupid to me after I recalled a video I watched on Youtube.

Guang Quan and Sandra's wedding was held in Crystal yesterday. Huiwen and Lihan came for the wedding and service too. Too bad I wasn't in the Sanctuary to witness their holy matrimony as I was serving in CC. But I still got to enjoy the food. ha!

The pineapple fried rice, sushi, fish fillet and rendang were good stuff. But I especially liked the dessert - yam paste.

So it's been over a month since I last updated. Sometimes there's just no motivation to blog and other times there is.

Heres a sprint through time.
My holidays in June past very quickly because I had activities planned almost every other day. To start off, there was the Crystal-Charis soccer match played in East Coast's Futsal court. The best part of the day was not the match but the sumptuous meal after that. heh.

During the first of my two weeks break, I had two camps - BAcomm camp and youth retreat. Youth retreat was quite good and maybe eventful too. Like my uncomfortable bus journey to Junwei's confrontation with two eccentric characters. Oh well.

June was also a time for birthdays. Three of them fell on days one after another. They were Lihan's, Weixiang's and Jazlyn's birthdays. nice.

Anyway, ever since the tansitlink penalty fee regulation came into effect on 1st July, I've been stopped by bus captains FOUR times! They wanted to verify that I wasn't misusing a concession card. And it's getting quite annoying. My friend suggested smiling at the driver when I board the bus. Don't think I'd do that though.

A thrilling dream

I had a dream last night and I jotted down whatever I remembered the moment I got up. Here's how it went......

I alighted at Outram MRT station to cross to the purple line. As usual, I took the escalator down to the tunnel. At the foot of the escalator, I stopped for a brief moment to survey my surroundings. Everything looked different. People were wearing cloaks, like how jedis dressed in Star Wars. Also, the elongated tunnel was white and had pipes running along its walls. It felt odd, but I continued walking anyway.

People were walking swiftly past each other and from time to time, someone would fall to their knees while another person would draw back what seemed to be a light saber.

What the hell?

Instinctively, I moved to the side. As I walked on, I avoided everyone in my path just in case someone stabbed me. I was nervous and was desperately looking for a light saber. I found one soon enough and felt safer. And for some reason, the killing suddenly stopped.

I walked on to the end of the tunnel where an escalator was. Two armed men stopped me from going down, saying it was too dangerous. Now, I just wanted to get to the purple line. So I tried to be a smart ass and ignored their warning. I pushed them aside and carried on down.

It was a long journey down (I don’t know why) and all I could look at were the boring paintings hung on the wall. Suddenly, I heard footsteps; someone seemed to be walking up the escalator towards me. I turned to see Darth Maul, no more than five meters from me. Our eyes met. Without warning, he drew his red light saber and raced towards me. Crap!

Gripped with fear, I made for the top of the escalator. I completed my retreat eventually and found the place crowded with what looked like Jedi knights ready for battle.

My dream ended here.

Just one more week

Its a week away to my term break, which will bring two things to an end.
#1 Common tests and
#2 The hardworking routine

The reason for #2 is fairly simple.
I have a number of classmates who are rather hardworking (and maybe smart too). They're more than eager to answer the questions during tutorials and gets them right most of the time.

Now, interaction is only going on between the tutor and them. When that happens, the tutor would race through the session assuming that everyone was brilliant that day. And since every session is brilliant, almost no one slacks in fear of being left behind. In fact, everyone becomes influenced to be extra hardworking.

I took on this "hardworking practice" pretty well the first few weeks. But subsequently, this habitual routine made me pretty exhausted, especially on weekends. As a result, I've became skinnier and look something like this (in red) -

In the end, I gave up doing that. And I've been trailing my classmates ever since (I'm back on track now though!).

Anyway, I've got an accounting paper tomorrow. I'm only worried I'll be sleepy cause its an afternoon paper. Other than that, I'm confident I'll do alright.

I've been meeting people and preparing for two presentations during the week, which left me busy and tired. Through it, I found only one good point in having group assignments so far - the work load is split.
To meet the schedule of my members, I spent some 14 hours in school on Thursday. That's part and parcel of it, but stressing extra load on some members because one produced shoddy work isn't. That's just the way it is......

And to wrap up the week yesterday, my phone's camera and LCD screen malfunctioned. My message tone has now became the most irritating sound. This seriously sucks.

I'm gonna deal with the bad week and look forward - to the Champion's league and American idol finals! Now here's a short trip back in time.

School - The First Week

The first week, which the lecturers call the 'honeymoon week' was super relaxed. I only had to attend lectures. But the sight during the lectures was surprising. Almost no one were 'msn-ing' and all were wide awake. Wonder how they resist the freedom to sleep......

My transport cost was close to 30bucks this week alone. Scary. Other than that, all else is good. School bag load has been just a notebook. Classmates are quiet but are 'testing waters', like by looking intently, to study each other. Scary stuff.

Anyway, I tried archery last week. I was so absorbed I spent almost an hour shooting after the program ended. But I don't think I'll be joining that. I'm going for futsal and soccer trails. I hope either one will take me, cause I heard the people there are quite pro. Gotta try my best then. Wish me luck ;)

I just realised that yesterday was the 13th, when I twisted my ankle. But I'm not really superstitious, so that doesn't bother me. So I've been desperately trying to treat my ankle (so I can walk properly and look normal in school) through the R.I.C.E. method. It’s helpful and effective……

"RICE" is short for rest, ice, compression, and elevation. RICE started immediately after a minor injury can help to relieve the pain and keep the area from swelling. When there is an injury, fluid can collect in the area of the injury. This extra fluid causes swelling and, if there is enough extra fluid, the pain may worsen. RICE can be used for minor injuries such as bruises, sprains, strains, and pulled muscles. The earlier the RICE treatment is started after an injury, the better it works.

Rest the injured area. If moving the injured area causes pain, this is the body's way of saying stop. Rest the affected area. Do not use or bear weight (such as standing or walking) until evaluated by a healthcare provider. Sometimes resting an injured area means not participating in any physical activity or just the activity that caused the injury. For example, some walking may be allowed, but no running. If necessary, the provider may suggest using crutches or a cane so that less weight is put on the injured foot or leg.

Ice applied to the injured area will help to prevent or reduce swelling. Swelling causes more pain and can slow healing. Apply a cloth-covered ice pack to the injured area for no more than 20 minutes at a time, 4 to 8 times a day. A one-pound package of frozen corn or peas makes a good ice pack. It is lightweight, conforms to the injured area, and is inexpensive and reusable. Applying ice more than 20 minutes may cause cold injury. When making an ice pack with a plastic bag, make sure all the air is out of the bag before closing it. Areas with little fat and muscle, such as fingers or toes, should only have ice on them for about 10 minutes. Frozen gel packs are colder than ice, so they should only be left on for 10 minutes.

Compression (use of a pressure bandage) also helps to prevent or reduce swelling. Wrap the injured area with an elastic bandage, but not so tightly that the blood is cut off. It should not hurt or throb. Fingers or toes beyond the bandage should remain pink and not become "tingly." The elastic bandage should be taken off every 4 hours and reapplied.

Elevation means raising the injured area above the level of the heart. The affected part should be elevated so it is 12 inches above the heart, to help reduce swelling. Prop up a leg or arm while resting it. It may be necessary to lie down to get the leg above the heart level. Elevation can be done with several pillows.

Do all 4 parts of the RICE treatment together.

That's the sickening sound you hear when you twist an ankle. It usually follows with an "arghhh!". After which, you'll be on the ground clutching that ankle as the pain slowly subsides to a throb.

I had that familiar experience about ten minutes into a soccer match this afternoon. I twisted my right ankle before many times, but the crack was longer than usual this time. It was especially daunting as I watched my side lose. I can hardly walk now. And school starts this week. What perfect timing.

I've had exactly five months of holiday and it's over... Everything that has a beginning has an end. Right. It's time once again to study for a piece of paper, this time round called a diploma. I'm so ready, bring it on! Out.

I'm kinda groggy now but still very much alert and awake. But I'll stay up to see England play France in a bit. According to espnsoccernet.com, Beckham will earn his 100th international cap and will be in the starting line-up in Fabio Capello's team, skippered by Rio Ferdinand. I hope England wins.

Swoooosh. Five days are gone in a swift snap. Saturday was physically draining, but it was fun. I spent the afternoon at Sentosa. The weather was like taking pleasure in poking fun at us. The sky darkened and cleared a few times before it finally poured. Anyway, I enjoyed the games.

I played for my friend's team in a soccer match on Saturday morning. The outcome was a miserable trashing. I recall that the midfield was very much better the last time. On Sat, the mid just seemed non-existent. I can't believe we let in more than 5.

My grand-dad was baptised on Sunday. Hallelujah! He's 92, and by estimation from his collection of empty metal cans, he drinks ABC stout about almost everyday. He's still able to do the "stand on one leg" stunt. Remarkable huh?

I just got this software which works and looks a little like Mac's Garageband. It's called mixcraft. I've had quite a bit of fun recording. If I come up with something good, I'll upload it. But so far...... ha. You can download Mixcraft 4.1 here

My next phase in life would begin in exactly a month at Ngee Ann poly. I'll be studying for a diploma in accountancy in the school of BA. The thing is, something keeps telling me that this isn't the right course for me. Then again practically, it is. Okay nevermind.

My mum urged me to read two books. Lee Kuan Yew's The Singapore Story and Every Young Man's Battle by Stephen Arterburn and Fred Stoeker with Mike Yorkey. I'm definitely going to tackle the latter first. ha.

A weird conversation. When it ended, a thought suddenly registered. I gasped in mighty disbelief. Don't know if I'm right.

School starts in April and I've still got a month odd of my holiday left. I'm looking for a job. One part of the testimonial from my teacher reads "a conscientious and purpose-driven individual who always endeavoured to do his best in whatever he undertook. He was able to to take criticism in his stride and would always listen to advice and act upon it to improve on his weaknesses". Eugene Chan is up for hire! Contact me via email now! heh.

I realised one of the types of songs that I like are those with that beautiful and gradual build up. If this type of songs have meaningful lyrics, it'll make it better. An example will be Coldplay's fix you. Two words to describe it - simply beautiful. It's my current favourite. Take a listen.

I just received an MMS containing Mas Selamat's picture and a police message to keep on the lookout for him. I looked up the bugger on Wikipedia and found that I share the same birthday as a terrorist. How disappointing.

Everywhere you go you see Selamat's face, in the bus, taxi, shopping mall and so on. However, I don't find it very useful to plaster his face all over because he would've probably changed his appearance already. Sunday's edition of The New Paper came up with quite a number of computer generated possible disguises he could use. I feel they didn't make much of a difference because his most prominent features which I think are the cheeks and lips could be seen.

One more thing about the escape. I'd like to know how in the blue world he escaped from the detention centre. Guess I'll keep my fingers crossed till the headlines of his arrest appear on the front page. By then the full report should be ready.

Edison Chen. Another face you see quite a bit in tabloids, magazines and other sources. The luckiest man some people say. His conquests include Gillian Chung, Bobo Chan and Cecilia Cheung. Well, he should've been more careful with what's meant to be private.

Anyway, I'm feeling uncertain. It feels like a masquerade put on for me. I'm Keeping my fingers crossed!

A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke... totally.

He said the trick was getting a stroke recognized, diagnosed, and then getting the patient medically cared for within 3 hours, which is tough.

RECOGNIZING A STROKE
Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke.

Doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions-S.T.R.:
S * Ask the individual to SMILE.
T * Ask the person to TALK and SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE (Coherently) i.e. It is sunny out today)
R * Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS.

If he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these tasks, call 995 immediately and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.

They're numbered according to my liking. As you can see, Freedom Writers is on top of the list. It is based on a true story about a young teacher who inspires her students to further their studies, give themselves a sense of hope and to be tolerent towards classmates of different colours.

These pupils are however, not ordinary fourteen or fifteen year old school going teenagers. They grow up in an environment where racial tension is dangerously high. Drugs, gangs and gun fights are no strangers to them.

She believes in transforming and educating them, but isn't getting much or any financial support from the school's principal. She takes on two additional jobs to buy her students books and resources and to also invite inspiring guest speakers to speak to them.

She gives each of her students a journal where they have to pen an entry daily about anything. She then compiles them into a book - The Freedom Writers.

Thursday and Friday was simply exhausting. I spent my whole valentine's day working. That's a grand total of 13hrs from two different jobs. From 4pm to 11++pm, I was working at a bistro/bar.

Over there, I was scolded/advised/being taught/given help at an average of once every minute from 7 o' clock onwards. To make it worse for myself, I was very tired then and I don't work as fast as a lot of people.

I learnt quite a fair bit from working behind the bar, how to do this and that, to move faster etc...... True. But being talked to in that tone puts me off, seriously. And I had to rise at 7.30am the next morning for work. Madness. Maybe I just can't do F&B.

The stress that was pushing me six feet under reminded me of the intensive mugging period for my Os. I don't quite know where that strength and perseverance to study came from. But it's over. heh.

So I've been really tied down this week. I havn't touched the guitar in the last four days! I need a break.

There were quite a few instances where I played soccer for many hours and went to bed the minute I had my bath. During my sleep, I would sometimes have sudden kicking movements, like how I would kick a soccer ball (which was actually the bed frame).

So I was just wondering, if for some reason someone had sex seven times on a particular day, would the person end up repeating the action in his or her dream?

Probably not.

Eugene was all smiles as he sat amongst his friends in the familiar canteen. It felt like a year back on a normal school day, when his lifestyle was so blithe. However, his mood was poles apart the moment he entered the well ventilated school hall. The atmosphere was unnervingly intimidating. Everyone held a stern and serious look on their faces. His eyes met the discipline master who was positioned at the entrance of the hall, directing students to their respective seats.

Eugene's brown coloured hair sent him to the back of the hall where a handful of students were congregated, students who would receive that precious slip of paper last. He hid his hands in his pockets as he walked nervously to the back of the hall.

The teacher in front went through the application process. An explanation of which Eugene felt was needless as all instructions were enclosed in a booklet. He received his copy as he sat cross-legged on the hard floor. He stared blankly at the patterns on the brown wooden flooring as his attention at the teacher drifted.

His mind raced as he began to ponder over the possibility of him doing badly. A feeling of doubt and uncertainty suddenly engulfed him, delivering a massive wave of anxiety and fear that struck and took him aback; sending shivers down his arched spine. The booklet crumpled in his grip as his fingers turned pallid. He was nervous.

The moment the entire cohort had been waiting for eventually arrived - the release of the examination results. "I would now announce our 6 pointers" declared the monotonous voice that reverberated throughout the hall. Eugene diverted his focus back at the teacher again. "Brandon Lim, Aaron Low, Gregory Ong, Ian Heng, Ooi junliang, K varatharaju, Prahbhu N and last but not least, Eugene Chan".

He was taken aback. "What? Was that my name? Can you repeat that please?" An enless string of questions that refused to agree with his achievement echoed within the back of his head. His heart palpitated vehemently as he acknowledged the truth. He could not believe it. His emotions took complete control thereafter.

I wish that was true. I was really nervous when I steped into the hall (but not to the extent that I described). Mr Wee made an effort at encouragement. He said to cry after getting the results. Like cry? ...... Anyway, I'm quite surprised that I did well for combined science, cause I suck at chem. I'm happy with that.

On the other hand, I'm utterly disappointed with my english result. Maybe it's okay, but it isn't good enough for me. I know it's no use crying over spilled milk. But I regret not thinking and writing faster. I know I'm capable of better results. B3? wtf. I shan't express my displeasure further.

I was just requested to highlight 31st January which is someone's birthday. Do buy shikin a present and include a number 6 on the wrapping ;)

I have an easy yet pretty intersting (I have an interest in how things work) job at a watch shop down Tiong Bahru. I was changing a battery one afternoon when I unscrewed a screw by accident. I had to get it back in place. Only problem was it was 1mm long.

The fan was not co-operating with me for some reason and I have sweaty palms. In addition to that, the auntie was staring down at me. Not good, really. I don't perform well under pressure. In the end I requested her to come back later, to which she agreed. It was a tensed and uptight experience.

My birthday was spent like this: Work, jam, play cs. Although only "Otherside" sounded right, I think we've all improved in one way or another. CS was surprisingly fun, I think greg initiated the fun in the awp map.

And tomorrow's the big day. Results. They sure know how to fix the date of release. How nice.

A whacky 2008?

I hope. It's unpredictable especially at this stage as I await my results. Whatever happens, I'll leave it all to God!

Happy new year to you! I was in church for the overnight prayer meet when the curtains to the new year drew open. So that explains why I've just woken up. It's gonna be quite a week for me with a chalet from tomorrow till friday and soccer during the weekend. I've got quite abit of photos, so brace yourselves!

Last Friday, I had a day trip to JB with Edmund, Hans, Jw, Josh, Charlene, Ingrid and Chelsia. We took an express bus in and cabbed within Malaysia.

We first went to Tebrau City shopping centre where we dined at Manhattan for lunch. Really worth the money. For RM20, I had fish and chips plus a mud pie. The food tasted good as well, especially the mud pie.

We spent about an hour shopping. After which we caught AVP2 for like RM8. Good thing it was cheap, cause the movie sucked and the video cut abit here and there. We got a small bite at Dunkin' Donuts before leaving for Plaza Pelangi where we were for about two hours. Then off to Teman Sentosa for seafood dinner!

Sad right? My digital camera died on me that day. So yea.

Oh yes, Christmas. This year my cards were no more "Dear[insert recepient's name], [template], From Eugene." So I spent quite some time writing my cards. I wanna thank everyone who wrote me cards and blessed me with gifts.

One of the presents I received was a bookmark with a story/poem by Mary Stevenson printed on it. It might be familiar with you. It's titled Footprints.

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand: one belonging to him, and the other to the Lord. When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand.

He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life. This really bothered him and he questioned the Lord about it.

"Lord, You said that once I decided to follow you, You'd walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why when I needed you most you would leave me."

The Lord replied, "My son, My precious child, I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I Carried You."

Hello you. Sup. I just returned home from a pretty meaningful ~~but overpriced~~ retreat. It's terribly warm and humid here on the twelfth floor at Jurong West as the clouds begin to darken. I'm certain a thunderstorm will follow. Damn the weather. Anyway here are some things I was pondering over just now.

1. Suddenly I feel so small, young and inexperienced; in need someone to guide and provide me with a direction to take. It's as though it were my first week on earth. I don't usually feel this way. Probably it's something people feel as they move on from secondary school.
Also, I'm taking on heavier responsibilities and commiting to more important things. The thing is that I think I'm not ready.

2. About playing of the guitar. I feel like I just started learning and can't play a thing on it. Like "Shit, I only the chords D, G and A.

3. After the retreat, I realised I'm quite a difficult person to converse with. Maybe that's my nature. I like to do quite a lot of things alone. Individuality. For example, I'd rather be on a bus alone than with friends. I'm not a loner, but I simply feel more comfortable that way.

In response to some feedback, let me just run through the past happenings.

THAT 10buck/hr job was to get people to sign up for cable TV. Right after the interview (which wasn't one anyway), Aaron, Greg, Lihan and I simply walked out the door. Reason: The pay - 2bucks/hour without commision. Okay, ask yourself this, would you sign up for cable tv? In other words, what are the chances that many people would sign up with you.

Well, I did give out flyers for 6 an hour on monday. I was in a miserable world of boredom during that time. I made some observations to entertain myself besides being plugged into the ipod.
1. Looking the person in the eye increases the chances that he/she would take the flyer.
2. Women are more likely to take flyers than men.
3. People in their mid-twenties are more likely to take flyers.
4. People who reject taking more politely are about twenty and above.

Hmmm, tuesday. Had a movie marathon over at JL's house/chalet/crib. Had been out with Greg and Lihan for the past three days, including today. And the plan to dine at Old Market somehow screws up everytime.

I was at Marina and needed to wait an hour today, and I was bored. The results......

Christmas is round the corner, eh? I've started my christmas card/presents name list. I've been cracking my head (still am) for the last five minutes trying to put a name to that face. This sucks badly for me 'cause I have difficulty remembering things.

During Christmas in church, I bet there'll be just some peeps I forget to write a card for. So I'd better prepare. So when I see them, I'll just go to the toilet cubicle/ armed with a pen and card.

You walk into the hotel in glamour with style, receiving countless stares as you walk swiftly, almost gliding towards the escalator. The lobby looks cool, the air is cool but most importantly, you're cool.

You're with your friend, a fellow colleague. Now both of you get onto the escalator, only to discover a crazy horde of fans cheering and screaming as though their lives depended on it. Cameras start flashing. You smile, you don't have a choice. At least a dozen pair of hands armed with pens and photographs of you are held to your chest. You satisfy some of them, but they're increasingly annoying. Enough! You shove them aside disappear into the ballroom.

I've finally got down to do this post. I simply wasted the last few days. I was at Cuppage in the lan for the past three or four days(I could've been there today as well, but thanks to me oversleeping, I decided to stay home). Pretty cheap for price for gaming there.

The top two paragraphs are crap, especially the part about the lobby. It'll give you a feeling that you're cramped into a very small space. Anyway, I wore the clothes that I borrowed from Daniel. Initially I wanted to wear my black and blue shirt, but since I borrowed his stuff I decided to just wear them.

To me, it'll be a memorable prom, but it just lacked a special moment or something to really "etch that night's event on our skin". The whole prom was still okay on the hold in terms of entertainment. I thought the games were quite good as well.

Anyway, I paid 70bucks for this graduation ceremony. I figure the money didn't go to the food but the booking of the place, the lucky draw prizes (includes the latest ipod nano and a sony photo printer), the plaques, the emcee and the dj.

For the last one hour or so of the night, almost everyone were busily snapping away. There were quite a number of dudes and dudettes whom I wanted to grab a shot with but were sadly not around. They really missed quite a bit.

Sup everyone. I guessed it was about time I resuscitated this blog, it's been more than a month! It's just down to two papers which wouldn't be much of a problem and I'm out of that school.

Coming week is gonna be super. I'll be doing a small performance for the sports leaders on tuesday night in school. Wednesday is grad. And of course, the sole fact that Os will be over makes the week super.

I was pondering over what my activities would be during my holidays. I figured staying home watchig videos and movies would be a good idea. But most definitely, I shan't neglect soccer, and jamming sounds like fun.

My Day

Something gave me the inspiration to write about how my day went. So here's a quick one......

He walked through the open glass doors of the fast-food restaurant, slightly drenched in perspiration. The cracked leather seats before him didn't seem the least appealing, but it was the best that they offered. The cool air from the the air-conditioner overhead that blew at him relentlessly was refreshing and rewarding. The familiar smell of french fries filled his nostrils. He scaned his surroundings with his eyes. Both of which never ceased at persuading him to shut them. But he was strong, he did not give in to them.

The sight of two toddlers chasing each other caught his gaze. What a din. Nonetheless, the sound of children laughing in glee was pleasing. But not the conversation of the weirdly dressed teenagers at the far end of the restaurant that was constantly spiced with vulgarities. If he had a glock-18 or a desert eagle in handy, he would've put them to an endless sleep.

He put his headphones on and turns on some music. He'd heard the songs a dozen times over, but they were undeniably easier to ignore compared to the noise. He flips a book open with one hand while the other casually flicks the cap of a pen off. He got into an unbeatable form. One which he hoped would never end, at least for now......

Same Shit Different Day. That's life, or isit not?

Seriously, I can't wait for that ~~fucking~~ day to break. The thirteenth of November, year two thousand and seven.

I've been refering to this neat little pdf file called '2007GCEOTimetable' and have been counting down the days to my science pracs on the 18th which is effectively the cutain opener to the Os.

I'm actually kinda panicking at this point in time (which candidate doesn't). Highly improbable thoughts run through my head now and then. For example, missing a paper or blanking or blacking out while attempting a paper.

Despite that, I'm confident I can do it. Trust in him. Anyway, I'll will keep everyone in prayer.

Do you get irritated at people who sit on their problems? I do. Let me give you a scenerio.

A: Shit la, I flunked like three subjects for my prelims. And Os are 3 weeks away. How? Die la.

B: Oh um, just work extremely hard during this peroid of time. You'll do just fine.

The next day A and B sit at their favourite spot in the mall to mug. B is busily scribbling away while A idles and stares blankly at nothing.

I've finally found a moment or two to use the com. Havn't came online for ages, and I've logged onto friendster. How's that.

I was in the midst of a pleasant shower on wednesday night when I thought I was gonna faint. But no, the soap bottles were shaking with me. The tremors. What a shake.
It was quite fun actually, the shake. ha. You should check out cnn.com and search "Powerful quakes hits Indonesia". Some pretty violent shakes in a high rise flat in S'pore.

Ahh, the teachers day performance. I was having so much fun with the vocals. The audience was fabulous I'd have to say, silent all the way through. I was concentrating so much on the singing I forgot to play the last chorus the way I wanted to. Thanks for the cheers! (even before we started)
An intersting performance was a malay quartet who did a chinese song. Brought pretty loud cheers.

I'm currently in the midst of my prelims. Sadly, I think the results will be crap. I totally dunno what I was doing during the english, ss and math papers. fack it. Gotta face this for another two months.

Speaking of facing the day. I've been preparing pretty weird breakfasts for myself lately. One would be two slices of bread generously spreaded with nutella. Sandwiched between them would be pieces of a sliced banana. Not forgetting a piece of cheese! Lastly, microwave and savor. I like melted cheese.

I've started to like maroon 5 songs again. Good stuff. Check out 'The Sun' from 'Songs About Jane'. The solo was breathtaking.

My blog is evidently becoming deader by day. The tagboard is somehow screwed and I don't intend to do anything about it, yet.

For the second time now, I'm doing weird things like sleeping at 9 at night and rising at 3 in the morning to study. It was all accidental.

Anyway the performance for Before It's Too Late passed for the teacher's day audition. So I'm kindly requesting for everyone's support. Ha.

Have you ever entered an audition where the judges seem the least musically inclined and judge you based on opinion? And when you aren't allowed to use all instruments you desire? Not forgetting singing without a mike. I have.

As you can see, I've given up on thinking of an appropriate title.

Here I am today facing the screen, relentlessly sneezing and blowing my nose away. I've yet to fully recover from my fever, but I feel stronger now, thanks to the numerous dosages of paracetamol.

I've always had an interest about the spiritual realm to a certain extent. Something happened whilst english lesson was ongoing yesterday morning. With all respect for the person I'm not going to review anything much here. I just wanted to say that whenever I prayed, it responded (by however I won't say). That just showed something.

That was my second experience witnessing someone in such a state.

I would like to share Felicia's testimony which is undoubtly amazing in my opinion. The following text is penned by her.

I've been a Christian for more than half my life. There have been many ups and downs, many peaks and valleys - many 'intersting' experiences with God. But I'll never forget two incidents in my childhood that showed me clearly from a young age, that without a doubt, the God I worship is real, living, and all-powerful. These incidents cemented God's reality for me, right from the beginning of my faith journey.

I shall first share briefly with you about my family background. I was born into a a staunch Buddhist and Toasit family. In fact, my paternal grandmother was and still is, an active medium. She was so well-known in her community that she carries out those activities four days a week, with at least twenty people visiting her per day. And when we're talking activities, i'm refering to spiritual encounters whereby at certain times of the day, she would sit on a designated chair, go into a trance, become glazed in the eyes and speak in a different tone to those who are around her.

In those moments, she would gain knowledge to read palms, interpret dreams, and predict future events of those people sitting at the alter. And yes, she has a special alter where there are three full rows of idols. Imagine growing up in such an environment. All her knowledge in those moments of trance was definitely spiritual insights, as my grandmother is illiterate and uneducated. There was never one moment when spiritual reality was just a fantastical idea for me.

Now back to myself. Although I was brought up in such a religious family, somehow, I never believed in those idols. With my simple mind, using a straightforward logic that children possess, I recalled asking myself ~ Why would people bow to handicrafts made by other humans, and made of stone and porcelain too? Of course I never dared to ask my grandmother that.

Interestingly, despite my family’s firm religious beliefs, they allowed me to attend Sunday School in Church! In their minds, such social outings would do me good as I can get to know new friends, and have fun on a Sunday morning. IT was in Sunday School that I first learnt about Jesus and His love for us on the cross. I recalled my impression when I first heard the gospel – in my heart, for some mysterious reason, I knew that this God is real, and this is the faith I will have. Without any hesitation, I accepted Christ into my heart.

When I got home from church, one of the first things I experienced was being ‘called’ to the alter. This was a common practice at home then – we’ll be called to the alter occasionally when my grandmother was in a trance, and we’ll be given some blessings or words of warning, along with some ‘fu’ and holy water to drink. This was when the first incident took place.

When I was called that day, I went up to the alter reluctantly. To me, such trips were a waste of time since I didn’t believe in them anyway. And since I’ve already accepted Jesus, I considered myself a Christian and thus didn’t see the need to do such things anymore. But because I have yet to inform my parents about my faith, plus being a child, I had to ‘follow the protocol’ and carry out the motion. So there I was kneeling at the alter.

As usual, I had to put out both my palms for the medium to see. ON that occasion, I did something different – I started to hum the Sunday School songs in my heart. I started to sing quietly two songs I had learnt – Jesus Loves Me This I Know and Jesus Christ Is The Lord Of All. I repeated those songs a few times in my heart.

And instead of seeing my palms, instead of reprimanding me, instead of giving me words of blessings, the medium didn’t say a word that day. What she did was to look at me in a startled way, and even to my child’s mind, I could see fear in her eyes. She tried open her mouth to speak, but nothing came out. She tried to look at my hand one more time, but again, no words came out. After a while, she just chased me away from the alter. And from that day onwards, I was called to the alter again. No one in my family wanted to bring up this incident too, because they had no explanation for it. From that time on, I knew that Jesus is really the Lord of All.

A few weeks later, I returned home from school, and it happened that my grandmother was in the midst of a trance. I walked through the door and walked past the alter. That was when the medium suddenly turned aside and glared at me – something I have not seen in all my years of living there. After that session, my grandmother approached me privately and asked if I had accepted a new religion. She told me that I must not, but there’s nothing she can do if I insist, because she knows that my God us higher than hers. That conversation blew my young mind. But with that statement coming from her mouth – from someone who knows the spiritual realm on a personal level – it only affirmed what I believed: God is higher above all other Gods.

The God I know is indescribable, awesome, and above all. Is He yours too?

Hello you. Due to complaints that my blog is dying, I've decided to liven it a little. Somehow I'm considering whether I should close down my blog. Anyway, the blog isn't really a "diary" anymore but more of an entertainment source or time killer in a sense. In other words, it ain't personal if your blog is public although there's an option to make it private.

I've always wanted to share my view about "Live Earth" (notice the inverted commas), I guess a lot of peeps have the same sentiment as well. It's supposed to be a 24 hour concert in 7 continents involving many artists on 07-07-07 to trigger a global movement to solve the climate crisis organised by former US vice president Al Gore.

First, does the concert help anyone? Sure, there'll be plenty of donations. By raising public awareness? Not really. How about the amount of gas emitted from flying the artists around?

I guess it also received a bad rating due to numerous complaints on foul language used.

How are the artists helping then? With Madonna shouting "If you want to save the planet I want you to start jumping up and down. Come on motherf******." The likes of Foo Fighters who helped themselves increase their album sales. Not surprising.

Oh and about Madonna, people were saying her guitar solo was fake. I'd have a good laugh if her guitar wasn't really plugged in.

Lastly, the biggest highlight is the mounds of rubbish left behind by the audience at Wembley. So much for creating public awareness on going green.

And I feel a great time to reflect is when you're on the bus not accompanied by anyone else. Well, it's day dreaming of some sort. So I'll prefer taking a bus to a train, if time permits.

I appear exceptionally calm in tense situations. Take for example when I get really annoyed when people move away from me without excusing themselves, I still present myself calmly.
In fact sometimes I question my "calmness". Like eh gene, you're not supposed to be so calm. you're supposed to be (insert emotion here).

I've spent the night mainly watching videos. And I chanced upon Connie Talbot's performance in the final round of Britain's Got Talent. It's a talent show where people of all ages compete by presenting performances of different genres.

So Connie's this sweet looking six year old who simply captured my attention with her innocent beautiful voice. There are also other oustanding groups. Go check them out. ha.

Her smile's so sweet. haha.

This week actually passed very quickly for me. Like phoof, it's Saturday agsin. Three more months to my Os. And I've already got a rough list of things to do after the exams. One is definitely to improve my guitar playing. Other thoughts like work comes to mind as well.

Anyway, as my track teacher was "leaving the school", we got a plaque done for him. He was only leaving for a few months on course. (Now who gave the wrong info) And printed on it contained "all the best in your future endeavours". So still being ignorant of the truth, we wrote like bye byes on the card that we gave to him as well. Now I feel damn stupid.

I can hardly wait for next season to start. It's gonna be extremely exciting now with Torres in Liverpool. It'll be intersting to see Arsenal play without Henry. And Not forgetting Manchester United's influx of new signings. I can't wait...

HAND SIZE

The rest of the week had been kind of squeezy for me. I've got too many things I want to do. Drums, bass, guitar, piano, soccer... And the E string of the bass guitar screwed up and I've yet to get it re-stringed. Guess I've gotta let go even more. The amount of work I see people doing is freaking me a little.

Okay maybe I should "re-wake" myself. Like Now.

First Written paper starts on 24th Oct.

That's what, a few months away? My deadline for Dnt is in two months time. Shite. But seriously, not all subjects in your Os really apply to your work in future. That's unless it's related somehow. Take a chemist for example, your're not going to need Design and Technology eh?

But I agree on the fact that it helps to develop skills like thinking. Then there's also EQ. That's emotional quotient, emotional intelligence. I feel it plays a major part in the working world. Who would want to work with someone who's extremely unreasonable.

Anyway, I've set some personal goals for myself. Also, I plan to learn piano after my Os. haha. Whos gonna teach me?

Hello. It's the second day into the second sem and my new timetable seriously sucks. I don't understand the over emphasis on math, therefore negleting the sciences in a sense. But like they say, pull through this few months.

I've spent a pathetic amount of time on revision during the holidays compared to some dudes. My time management needs some serious... management.

Everyone has some form of fear, be it heights or water. Occasionally, I fear failure. Recently, this particualar race I ran this year perpetually replays in my mind. I was so pissed off with myself after the race that I threw my shoe at the wall. Guess no one saw that.

In any case, I'm out of track and won't run again. That's the case, at least for now.

Anyway I watched Surf's Up with caleb, his friend and yz last week. The first and last parts were quite nice, but the middle could put you to sleep. Some parts were funny though.

During the holiday I also went down to Four Tones for a jam. A good learning experience but I'll say there's just a vast amount of room for improvement for everyone.

I was down at The Cage on Saturday. Some sort of indoor "cage" like arena where you play soccer for a hefty amount of about 80bucks an hour. The pitch was not bad but I didn't like the cusioned walls, totally defeats the purpose of a wall. I netted one nonetheless. ha.

It was kinda SJI int. versus ACS int. with a hong kah sec guy on the sji side. Although we drew first blood it ended with a boring draw.

Also I realised it's somewhat my way to be subtle in relating and bringing across a point to someone. Maybe it's time I change?

Okay it's 5:17am in the morning and I'm still awake. I use the com at such weird hours. Well, I don't feel tired at all, in fact I feel like going for a run now.

So being a good student, I decided to utilize my time constructively by completing eight f%$#ing essays. Constructive indeed. ha.

Shit I've got school at eight later and I've got a lunch at 12. Think I'll be pretty much dead by then.

This scene took place on a British Airways flight between

A white woman, about 50 years old, was seated next to a black man.
Very disturbed by this, she called the air hostess.

"You obviously do not see it then?" she asked. "You placed me next to a black man. I did not agree to sit next to someone from such a repugnant group. Give me an alternative seat."

"Be calm please," the hostess replied.
"Almost all the places on this flight are taken. I will go to see if another place is available."

The hostess went away & then came back a few minutes later.

"Madam,just as I thought, there are no other available seats in Economy Class. I spoke to the captain & he informed me that there is also no seat in Business Class. All the same, we still have one place in First Class."

Before the woman could say anything, the hostess continued.

"It is not usual for our company to permit someone from Economy Class to sit in First Class. However, given the circumstances, the captain feels that it would be scandalous to make someone sit next to someone so disgusting."

She turned to the black guy, & said, "Therefore, Sir, if you would like to, please collect your hand luggage, a seat awaits you in First Class."

At that moment, the other passengers, who'd been shocked by what they had just witnessed, stood up & applauded.

Anyway, I've been watching quite a bit of movies these few days, in the comfort of home. Along Came Polly and Night At The Museum, both starring Ben Stiller. The former was quite funny, but Zoolander wins hands down. ha.

I also watched The Departed and The Untouchables. If you can't endure the dialogue in Godfather, then watch Untouchables instead. Straightforward storyline.

Anyway, I was thinking... If I were to get get into a JC via DSA I've gotta "use an ability". And the sad truth is it'll be through track. Ahh wtf la. But if my O level results are above requirement, joining track wouldn't be necessary. If.

I've been constantly reminded to study. Heck it. Now there's this sudden urge to play basketball. That's something new.

Some small performance today in church. Josh, Gene Lim, Jw, Eddy, Fed, Sarah, Jaz and I did a rendition of So You Would Come. All i can say is that I couldn't hear myself or anyone in that crib.

Ever heard of a term called air drums? Anyway we've added air bass and air piano to that.

It's as good as not. There's simply no holiday feel at all. Going back to school for lessons is exceptional, but knowing you have to study and not having the mood to is another thing. Fack.

I've been in my crib (home actually) for the past few days besides going down to church. And I havn't touched that darn ball for awhile now, guess it's time I exercise.

Anyway, I've finally caught Spiderman 3. The theatre was still pretty packed despite the opening a few weeks back. I thought it was nice but wasn't as good as I heard it would be. And Harry's death very predictable.

Speaking of movies, quite a number of third parts for movies like Bourne Ultimatum, Rush Hour 3, Shrek The Third, Pirates and Oceans 13. About Oceans, I don't know about you but I thought Oceans 12 was crap. I'm hoping 13 would be at least as good as 11.

I was at GDOP- Global Day Of Prayer on Sunday over at the National Stadium. I was there with Matt, Nic, Jw, Jazlyn, Hui Ru, Liyun, Zhaolin, Joshua, Eddy, Genelim, Linda, Fedrick and matt's cousin. That's few people compared to other larger groups. They actaully carried flags to identify themselves.

The last time I was there was in 2002 for NDP preview. Damn stupid. My first time attending GDOP so I didn't expect anything. The songs were quite okay. One of the things I just don't find meaning in is the people with flags running about the field. Just imagine.

I overcame my indolent nature and made a new skin. The progress stopped dead many times but here it is. Simplicity is the word I guess?

I'm kinda pondering whether to participate in coming July's nats. Proper training requires plenty of time, rest and a disciplined lifestyle. It's my final year but I have my studies at hand. Some advice please? ha.

Lately, I've been playing the guitar and singing quite a bit. I took part in the school's talent time with Jerein. We did a rendition of Howie Day's Collide. The audience was quite good. Thanks to all for the support, and of course for the essential constructive criticism. The critics that is.

I don't know what I'm doing here at this time of the day. Anyway, I am stressed. My design and technology folio needs revival. Worst part is I don't have the motivation the study, not one bit.

At times I wish I could play soccer like Scholes. At times I wish I could be as shrewd as THAT person. At times I wish I could play the guitar as well as John Mayer, or my brother for a start.
That can simply drive me to improve my game, to do better. It kills complacency. It creates the lust to strive, to achieve. What drives you.

Anyway, the youths played block catching on Saturday. Memories came alive... Those were my primary school days (when the hair was eh-hmm. lol.) I was recalling some moments. It's extememly facinating how I can still remember the best hiding places vividly.

Easter Ssunday. The praise and worship session was special. To me, it was moving. It was alive, espeically 'This kingdom'. I Havn't had this kind of sessions in a while. It was purely enjoyable.

What drives me? I need fuel.

I havn't been myself lately. Well, I'd still say I'm in control though, haha.

Sports day.. ahh. Gamma, my house finally failed to defend the championship this year and dropped to 4th! Actually I'm not all that bothered about that.. The whole shit was demoralizing. Personal goals unmet, hah.

I'd agree that there was certainly no atmosphere for this year's track meet. Other dumb stuff like my shoe sole holding my spikes flying off while running (now what does this tell you about Nike), baton dropping and, I shan't go on any further... Bores you eh?

Found abit of old stuff, so here is a story I found that I thought would be intersting to share...
The Barber Who Believed That God Doesn't Exist:

A man went to a barber shop to have his hair and his beard cut as always. He started to have a good conversation with the barber who attended him. They talked about so many things and various subjects.

Suddenly, they touched the subject of God. The barber said:
"Look man, I don't believe that God exists as you say so."
"Why do you say that?" - Asked the client.

Pastor Bee Tin prayed for me and mentioned something about running a few times. Did she read my mind or something? The thing was that she just wanted to pray for me instead of me going up to her.

One thing she said that was somewhat true is that I do not say much, but feel a lot.

Finally got down to update, had been rather busy lately......

Joined the dudes for dinner last friday. Well, just a meal. But of course, thanks for it =)

There was a race the following day, so eating like that wasn't very smart. But eating a proper meal wouldn't have made much difference. It was raining so the ground was rather muddy throughout the route.

Some weird dude actually yelled when his foot went right into the mud. Funny guy. The race left me extremely exhausted. Wonder what drove me to study the next day.

Since I missed mine, Fedrick's and Junwei's birthdays, we had a... should I say simple? yea, considering it was a coffeeshop.

Anyway, I was at my church bus stop waiting last saturday(for the bus of course. This German dude (found out he was German, thought of hitler right away and compared their faces) asked me for directions.

He was on an exchange program with NUS. They brought them to Holland V and didn't tell them how to get back to the campus.. so, yea.

I remember I left right after svc, and was very tired then. So to entertain myself, I answered his queries. He couldn't catch what I said quite a few times. (I don't speak very fast, do I?) He too mentioned that Singapore's transportation system is good.

Alright, so I was on the bus and this driver had some problem (shall save you from the details) with me. The thing was thing he drove damn slowly and freaking drove up a curb! So much for good transportation? ya, I know it doesn't make any sense.

I really thought it would topple.(I was like at the side where the wheel was on the ground) At that point of time I looked to my left, where a rather plump man sat at the other end. I was like shit! lol.

The week past rather quickly for me. Not a really eventful one I guess, besides the funeral shit. blah.

Like freaking no?! Not for me at least. Today wasn't the best of first-days. I woke up kind of late and was of course, rushing.

I was in a rather cryptic or maybe unusual mood. Probably due to the lack of sleep I guess. It wasn't a mood swing but rather a slow mood change from some time back..

So if I had offended anyone was being insensitive, I apologize. Hope I'm understood though.

Anyway, I realised that some cliques have a little to do with your position in the family, whether you're the youngest, oldest or the child in the middle.

For myself, mostof you guys (May may, lihan, huiwen, peggy, greg, aaron, jerein, junliang and brandon) are the youngest in your family. It was a random thought, so I may be wrong =)

Well, schools started. Who wants that eh? I've got one shot, so I better do well. But of course that'll be the case, you'll ace it. Man, am I deceiving myself? ha.

Got some cash from the school. Many people got them too I think. Like dammit, why can't they give it in cash? I would definitely have given you people a treat! Yea, as if they would.
